Transformation
Data & Analytics
Most organisations are sitting on more data than they know what to do with, and far less insight than they need. The gap between the two is usually not more data: it is the pipelines, structure and tooling to turn what you already have into something you can act on.
We build data infrastructure that is reliable, well-documented and built to be maintained rather than just delivered. Whether you need a single source of truth for your business metrics, real-time dashboards for operational teams, or predictive models to get ahead of trends, we design and build the right solution for your scale and your maturity.
What's included
- Data pipeline architecture that moves your data reliably from source to destination without constant babysitting
- Real-time analytics dashboards for the teams who need to react to what is happening right now
- Data warehouse design to bring your data together in a structure that makes querying fast and results trustworthy
- Business intelligence solutions that put the right information in front of the right people in a format they will actually use
- Data quality and governance frameworks so your teams can trust the numbers they are making decisions on
- Predictive modelling to surface trends and anomalies before they become problems or missed opportunities
Key Benefits
- Decisions made on accurate, up-to-date information rather than spreadsheets that are already out of date
- Full operational visibility so problems are visible before they escalate
- Revenue opportunities surfaced from patterns in your customer data you could not see before
- A genuine understanding of your customers: what they do, what they want and where you are losing them
- Market intelligence that keeps you one step ahead rather than responding to things that already happened
FAQs
That is a very common starting point. We begin with a data audit: mapping where your data lives, what format it is in, how it moves between systems and where it gets lost or corrupted along the way. From there we can design a pipeline architecture that brings it together reliably. We do not need everything to be clean and tidy before we start; part of the work is building the infrastructure that makes it clean and tidy going forward.
It's important to remember that your "data" is not just spreadsheets and JSON; it's the sticky note attached to an item or an email between colleagues warning them of a new quirk with a product. That's why we take real care to understand not just how your existing system works, but how your team actually use it.
A data warehouse is a central store designed specifically for querying and analysis — separate from your operational databases, which are optimised for running the business rather than answering questions about it. Whether you need one depends on how much data you have, how many different sources you are working with, and what kinds of questions you need to answer. For some organisations a well-structured warehouse is transformative. For others, a lighter-touch approach works perfectly well. We will give you an honest view on what your scale and use cases actually warrant.
Data quality and governance are built into the solution, not added as an afterthought. We implement validation rules, data lineage tracking and automated quality checks so you know where each number came from and whether it can be relied upon. We also work with your teams to understand the business definitions; for example what does 'active customer' actually mean in your context, so that the dashboards reflect reality rather than a technical approximation of it.
In most cases, yes. Whether you are using Power BI, Looker, Tableau, Metabase or something else, we can build the underlying data infrastructure to feed it properly. We are not tied to any particular BI vendor, so if you already have licences and familiarity with a tool, we will work with it rather than try and move you into something new. If you do not have a preference, we will recommend something that fits your team's technical level and your budget.
A data analyst works with data that is already accessible and reasonably structured. What we build is the infrastructure that makes that possible in the first place: the pipelines, warehouses, quality frameworks and tooling. Think of it as laying the foundations before the analyst can build on them. Once the infrastructure is in place, your internal analysts (or ours) can actually get answers without spending most of their time cleaning spreadsheets.
We work on time-and-materials or fixed-scope arrangements depending on what makes sense for the engagement. For early-stage discovery and exploratory work, time-and-materials gives you the flexibility to change direction as you learn. For well-defined deliverables where the scope is clear, a fixed-price statement of work gives you budget certainty. We will recommend the model that protects your interests, not just the one that is easier for us.
Yes. While we are based in Manchester and work closely with businesses across the North West, we work with clients across the UK and further afield. Most of our work is delivered remotely, with on-site visits for the sessions where being in the room actually matters — typically discovery workshops, stakeholder interviews and key decision points.
Security is not a phase at the end of a project — it is part of how we work throughout. We hold Cyber Essentials accreditation and our team has a background in defence and high-security environments, so secure-by-default thinking is genuinely embedded in how we approach architecture, code and data handling. For clients with specific compliance requirements, we can align our delivery to ISO 27001, GDPR, JOSCAR or other relevant frameworks.
We start with a free consultation to understand your situation and work out whether we are a good fit for each other. If we move forward, the first formal phase is discovery: structured workshops and conversations to understand your goals, constraints, existing systems and the people involved. At the end of discovery you get a clear picture of what we are recommending and why. We'll provide you with enough information to make an informed decision about next steps, with no obligation to continue if it is not the right time.
That being said, we know that no two projects are the same, so we'll always work with you to work out what fits best!
